Welcome to Tiny Scribe!
Welcome to Tiny Scribe!
‘A land full of musings, adventures and armchair philosophy. A place to share the wonderland of creatives, and world changers I meet along the way.’
It has taken a little time to know where to begin. When Tiny Scribe launched, little did I know that in a matter of weeks our lives would change irrevocably overnight.
As the Pandemic spread and the world went into lockdown, people were parted, fear infused our networks and connection became the realm of virtual reality.
Once the kingdom of science fiction; deserted streets, shuttered doors and a ban on social contact transported us to a seemingly dystopian world. We didn’t see this coming, we weren’t prepared, we went into collective shock.
Yet, as this crisis unfolded and continues to evolve by the day, we have adjusted to the changing tide in ways full of beauty and hope.
Communities came together in a wave of humanity, volunteers flooded the NHS, and simple acts of kindness created a new form of celebrity. Our healthcare workers, transport, retail, teachers and support services became the new hero’s. Everyday people became our models of aspiration.
And, as society began to heal, so did the natural world. As mass production and industry ground to a halt, Venetian canals ran clear, wildlife roamed deserted streets, and the Ozone began to repair. The Earth began to breathe.
In just a few short weeks we proved that collectively great things are possible. We showed that adaptability, positivity and community can indeed effect immense change.
Now life is divided between the time before and the new norm… do we really wish to return? Because if this disaster has shown us anything it is that we do have a choice.
We have a chance to re-calibrate society and capture the global empathy that emerged. We have a chance to save our natural world and in doing so save ourselves.
Although the shape of the future is uncertain it by no means has to be bleak. The world has been put on pause, the re-set button is waiting to be pressed.
Are you ready?… come on… follow me down the yellow brick road… it’s gonna be one hell of a trip!
